Discussion 11/17: Remembering Me

If I die in 50 years:

What do I want to be remembered for?

  • A man of integrity
  • A strong willed father who is willing to do anything for family
  • A man of humility
  • A real man who will follow convictions
  • A person who empathizes and cares for the hurting
  • Affecting others enough so they remember me

If I died today:

What would I be remembered for?

  • Automated, impersonal
  • Self-centered, but willing to help when pressured
  • Smart, hard-working, but not making a real difference in lives

What would I have done differently?

  • Reached out to family more
  • Focused on being with people
    • Reaching out
  • Said what I thought rather than trying not to “rock the boat”
  • Played more

What do I need to change to be remembered the way I want?

  • Know what I believe, say it, and do it
  • Reach out to hurting
  • Focus on relationships in my life and not my comfort

Do different people remember me differently?
Who? How?

Five years ago, would I be remembered for the same things I would be remembered for today?

What is different? Why?

What are thoughts on the differences?
What has affected these changes? External forces? Relationships?
